Like many other unique products, these handcrafted items originally emerged from the family kitchen table. The old "Anwander" drugstore in Zurich was both the lab and the production site for the first cans of carnauba wax for cars and boats, initially made only for the personal use of the grandfather and company founder Hans Anwander.
These products are still exclusively handmade and filled can by can in our wax factory today. The high-quality formulations do not allow for industrial production. The Difference
Unlike conventional polishes, Swissvax waxes contain no abrasives and can be applied to all types of paintwork: modern water-based paint systems, so-called nanocoatings, and even old nitrocellulose lacquers. Swissvax consists of two components: the pre-treatment Cleaner Fluid Regular and the carnauba wax. The waxes are easy and pleasant to apply and leave no white residues on rubber or edges.
Carnauba is the hardest, purest, most transparent, and also the most expensive natural wax in the world. It is obtained from the leaves of the Brazilian fan palm "Copernica prunifera" and classified by color and clarity. The highest quality is classified as rare Grade One Carnauba and is used in our waxes. The gloss level increases the more carnauba is in a formulation. While conventional car waxes contain 3% to 5% carnauba wax, Swissvax formulations with 30% to 76% vol. % contain one of the highest concentrations available on the market.
Unlike conventional polishes, which only polish the surface to a shine while the lower layers of paint become drier and drier and slowly starve, Swissvax carnauba formulations enriched with oily extracts of passion fruits, oranges, avocados, and vanilla restore the lost deep gloss to the paint. The result is a deep, unique "wet look" that excites collectors and car enthusiasts worldwide.
